Taormina – a full day.  Just thirty minutes from the hotel.  Perched on the edge of the mountainside overlooking the azure waters of the Mediterranean.  Taormina really is the jewel in Sicily’s crown.  Elegant, sophisticated, with a bustling shopping centre and lots of delicious gelaterias and trattorias.  We will visit the breathtaking Greek amphitheatre located in the centre of the town, after a short guided walk you will be free to explore.

Mount Etna – full day

Sicily boasts the most active of  volcanoes in Europe with Stromboli taking the top spot, but perhaps the best known is majestic Mount Etna which dominates a good part of the east of the island.  Snow capped in winter Etna has a fascinating lunar like landscape.  As you start to climb up by coach you will experience the gradual change in the scenery, the colours, vegetation and surroundings all take on a new form.

Hidden Sicily Tour – full day

Today we will go to Savoca, selected by director Francis Ford Coppola as one of the settings for “The Godfather”.  There is a beautiful cathedral here which we will visit.

Here in Savoca we will have the opportunity to taste and sample the local wines from the region.  We will then head fo Castelmola, a medieval hill town above Taormina with breathtaking views of the sea and Mt Etna.  Our next stop is the village of Forza d’Agro, where we will stop at a traditional trattoria for a typical Sicilian fish lunch with wine.  This charming medieval hilltop village has a fantastic view of the coast and Mt Etna.
